Diabetes is a metabolic malfunction, caused due to the increased blood glucose level in the blood. This blood glucose does not change into energy due to lack of insulin or improper secretion of insulin. This may be caused due to various reasons like heredity, overweight or obesity, improper eating habits, etc. This is differentiated into two types and they are Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.

In type 1 diabetes, the insulin is not produced as per requirement or no insulin is produced in order to convert the blood glucose level into energy. This may occur in any age group and are often known as ‘Insulin dependent Individuals’. However, Type 2 diabetes is where insulin is produced as per requirement, but the cells are damaged and they are not able to accept the insulin, to convert the blood glucose, resulting in a high blood glucose level.
